2011 Bowl Projections: ASU Destined For Alamo Bowl?

We're on the waining side of the regular NCAA football season, and with only a few games left on the docket it's time to look ahead at which teams could be playing in bowl games this holiday season. Just which bowl game will the Arizona State Sun Devils be playing? It's starting to look like the Alamo Bowl may be the place to be.

SB Nation's Bill Connelly wrote up some bowl projections for all the major college conferences, setting up Arizona State very nicely. Connelly sees the Sun Devils and Stanford Cardinal going at it for the Pac-12 championship, as he is predicting the Oregon Ducks to fall to Stanford in Palo Alto two weeks from this Saturday on November 12. Connelly eventually predicts a national championship game with Alabama and Stanford, making the Sun Devils in the Alamo Bowl a good fit this year.

ASU has meetings with UCLA, Washington State, Arizona and Cal left on their schedule, a group of games they most definitely could go undefeated in. Connelly sees them finishing with a 9-4 record though, and taking on the Kansas State Wildcats on December 29 down in San Antonio, TX. Should be fun to see how it all pans out.
