AP College Football Poll: LSU Still Ranked No. 1, Alabama And Oklahoma Follow

The AP poll was a few hours late this week thanks to a missing ballot. The AP ultimately decided to go with 59 votes instead of 60 but claim it won't have an impact. The top ten in the AP ranking remain unchanged from last week with LSU on top after their win over ranked Florida.

Alabama (2) and Oklahoma (3) don't move which is a little surprising considering the quality of the Sooners win over Texas (formerly ranked 11th) while Alabama got their "W" over Vanderbilt. Wisconsin, Boise State, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Clemson, Oregon and Arkansas round out the top ten.

The ridiculously slow AP has yet to release the rest of the top 25 ranking for this week. It seems safe to assume Arizona State will climb a few spots from their 22nd ranking with the big road win over the Utah Utes. This sets up a big opportunity next week when ASU travels to Oregon to face the Ducks in a marquis college football match-up.

We'll update the rest of the AP to 25 ranking once the AP decides to release them. Explain again why we put so much stock in what the AP thinks?

[Update, 10/09/11 11:38 AM MST ]

The full rankings from AP is finally out. Arizona State is ranked 18th.
