Tell me if you haven't heard this one before: The Arizona St. Sun Devils have suffered another potential crippling injury at a critical position.
You won't tell me, because you have heard it before.
The ASU Sun Devils Athletics Department tweeted that left tackle Evan Finkenberg injured his knee in last week's victory over the Oregon St. Beavers, and he could be out for a significant period of time after undergoing surgery. Add this to the injuries to center Garth Gerhart and right tackle Aderious Simmons, and ASU could be back to the patchwork O-line that sunk their conference title hopes the past two seasons.
Here are the potential scenarios for the O-line.
- If Simmons can go at right tackle, primary tackle backup Dan Knapp will move to left tackle.
- If Simmons is out, Knapp moves to right tackle and either Jamil Douglas or Tyler Sulka take the blind side.
