The Arizona St. Sun Devils continue their steady ascent up the BCS ladder after a routine pummeling of the Colorado Buffaloes. ASU is now up to 19th, the third best ranked Pac-12 team in the conference behind the Stanford Cardinal and the Oregon Ducks, both of whom have the best odds of making a BCS bowl come the final ranking.
Arizona State doesn't have many tests left on their schedule to boost their resume enough to win the at-large bid. The hardest game left on their schedule is probably the UCLA Bruins in what amounts to a de facto Pac-12 South title game. So it's not likely they will move up any higher on the computers. ASU's likeliest scenario to getting into the BCS is simple as can be; win the Pac-12 South, then upset the Pac-12 North winner to get to Pasadena. An at-large bid would require many more upsets, so we'll rule that scenario as highly unlikely right now.
