The Arizona St. Sun Devils might have lost to the Oregon Ducks, but they are still in good position to make the postseason. At 4-2 and some of their easiest opponents ahead, ASU is in great shape to finish in the top part of the conference.
Mark Schlabach and Brad Edwards, ESPN's bowl experts, currently have ASU positioned in the Valero Alamo Bowl against the Texas A&M Aggies. This seems to be contingent on Stanford ending up in the Rose Bowl game and Oregon ending up with a BCS at-large berth, which if you think about it for a minute (just a minute), probably won't end up happening.
Ted Miller isn't quite as optimistic, believing that there won't be a second BCS at-large berth, which would drop ASU a spot down from the Alamo Bowl to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
Let's take a look at Arizona State's schedule.
With USC and Oregon out of the way, ASU will face Colorado, UCLA, Washington State, Arizona and Cal after their bye week. The Sun Devils should be favored in every game and have a good shot at finishing with the third best record in the conference.
Of course, ASU can foul up all the bowl projections if the Sun Devils can pull off an upset in the Pac-12 championship game and earn a Rose Bowl berth.
