Matt Scott injury: Arizona QB doubtful vs. Colorado

Arizona will likely be without their starting quarterback as they look to become bowl eligible on Saturday.

Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE

Starting quarterback Matt Scott was listed as doubtful on Arizona's injury report that was released on Thursday afternoon.

Scott appeared to suffer a concussion two weeks ago against USC, although he passed all tests administered by the training staff and gave it a go against UCLA. He did not look right against the Bruins and then took an inadvertent knee to the back of the helmet midway through the second half. He left the game and was reportedly dizzy in the locker room.

With Scott likely out, B.J. Denker will likely start against Colorado. Wide receiver Richard Morrison, who played some quarterback in high school, will be the other option. Look for the Wildcats to run the football heavily against the Buffaloes.

Here is the rest of UA's injury report:

Probable:
Kirifi Taula (shoulder)

Questionable:
Taimi Tutogi (neck)

Doubtful:
Matt Scott (concussion)
Jourdon Grandon (concussion)
Chris Putton (concussion)

Out:
Dominique Austin (foot)
Terrence Miller (ankle)
Hank Hobson (neck)

Arizona kicks off against Colorado at 11:30 a.m. MT on Saturday. A win makes them bowl eligible for the first time since 2010.
