The Arizona Wildcats started slow against the one-win Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday morning, but a big second quarter propelled them to a 28-17 lead.
Ka'Deem Carey has been the star so far. The sophomore tailback has 12 carries for 121 yards and three touchdown scores. He also leads the team with 34 receiving yards.
B.J. Denker, who is filling in for the injured Matt Scott, has impressed in his first career start at Arizona. He fumbled a bad handoff on the first drive of the game, but since has gone 9-for-10 for 122 passing yards and a touchdown.
Colorado came out inspired, but their defense has really let them down so far. Nick Hirschman is making the first start of his career and has been impressive sans a poor interception toss. He has completed 10 of his 11 attempts for 122 yards. Running back Christian Powell is having a big game for the Buffaloes, carrying the ball 19 times for 67 yards and two scores.
The second half is about to begin on FX.
