College football bowl projections 2012: Arizona or Arizona St. could end up in New Mexico

The Arizona Wildcats and Arizona St. Sun Devils are both jockeying for position on where they'll end up during bowl season.

The final weeks of the season are upon us and every team is fighting for a spot in the best bowl for their team. While many will be watching to see what happens in the BCS, other teams will be getting placed in a litany of bowl games, supplying the college football world with plenty of intriguing matchups.

ESPN predicts the Arizona Wildcats to head to either the Hyundai Sun bowl against the Duke Blue Devils or the Gildan New Mexico bowl against the New Mexico Lobos.

The Arizona St. Sun Devils are projected to face either the Bowling Green Falcons in the Military Bowl or the Gildan New Mexico bowl against New Mexico.

It would make sense for the New Mexico bowl to want to get one of the Arizona teams into their bowl game because it would allow for a nearby fan base to attend the game instead of a team from further away that would have difficulties traveling.
