The Arizona Diamondbacks begin a four game series against the Colorado Rockies on Friday in Denver, and need to turn in a big performance in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Diamondbacks just took two out of three games against the San Diego Padres, but are 5.5 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the final NL Wildcard spot.
Wade Miley will take the ball on Friday, and will face off against Drew Pomeranz. Miley (15-10, 3.10 ERA) has been sensational this year, and but has given up at least 3 earned runs in each of his past four starts. Pomeranz (1-9, 5.06 ERA), on the other hand, has struggled for much of the year. Scheduled to follow Miley for the Diamondbacks are Patrick Corbin on Saturday, Ian Kennedy on Sunday, and Trevor Cahill on Monday.
First pitch on Friday is at 6:10 p.m. MT.
