MLB Trade Rumors: Stephen Drew Unlikely To Be Dealt, According To Report

The Arizona Diamondbacks dealt Ryan Roberts on Tuesday night to the Tampa Bay Rays, acquiring minor league second baseman Tyler Bortnick in exchange. With the news of Roberts leaving town, Stephen Drew should feel a bit more comfortable about his fate at the trade deadline, which is in less than a week.

Here is the latest on D-backs trade rumors:

There is always a chance a team bumps their offer to acquire the veteran shortstop, but dealing Drew would really put the D-backs in a rough situation. Their depth on the left side of the infield is already poor, and dealing yet another capable player would do anything but help the situation. A trade of Drew would also officially make Arizona "sellers" at the trade deadline, a move that would not sit well with the fan base.

The next six days are going to be very interesting for general manager Kevin Towers and the front office.
