As Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton's name continues to swirl in trade rumors, FOX Sports has learned that the 24-year-old can block trades to four teams: the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs.
The reason isn't necessarily that Upton does not want to play for those four teams but it is something that players will sometimes do in order to possibly get more money out of a trade situation to a high-revenue team. Those four teams fit the bill.
Upton, who finished fourth in NL MVP voting last year, has struggled during his first 82 games this season, hitting only .264 with seven home runs. His play has even led to the home crowd booing him.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are said to want Upton but what they can offer is not what the Diamondbacks want in return.
