Arizona Diamondbacks' shortstop Stephen Drew continues his long, arduous journey back to the major leagues following a gruesome ankle injury last season with a couple of extended outings this weekend. According to Steve Gilbert, Drew is expected to play back-to-back games after going seven on Friday, and is hoping to go all nine innings on Saturday. This would mark the first time playing two days in a row since suffering the injury on July 20th.

If all goes well, Drew is hoping to then head to Reno for a rehab stint that would put him on the right track to rejoining the Diamondbacks. He was injured while sliding into home last year and in the collision with the catcher, his ankle was severely twisted.
