After losing two of three games against the Washington Nationals, the Arizona Diamondbacks close their 10-game road trip out with a weekend three-game set against the New York Mets. Arizona is 4-3 so far and a series win over the Mets would make the road trip a success.
Arizona's offense has been more productive recently, but the bullpen has struggled. Plus, the team is still banged up. Luckily, some very good starting pitching has been present.
The Mets have lost three straight games and are an average 13-12 to start the season. They are led by third baseman David Wright, who is killing the ball. He is hitting .392 on the season. Their starting pitching has been average at best.
Here are the expected starting pitcher for the weekend:
Friday, 4:10 PM: Wade Miley (3-0, 1.29) vs. Dillon Gee (2-2, 4.85)
Saturday, 1:05 PM: Patrick Corbin (1-0, 4.76) vs. Johan Santana (0-2, 2.25)
Sunday, 10:10 AM: Trevor Cahill (2-2, 3.13) vs. R.A. Dickey (4.45)
