Old Man Jamie Moyer Beats Arizona Diamondbacks 6-1

There was a lot made about the matchup between the 49-year old left-hander Jamie Moyer and Patrick Corbin, who wasn't even alive when Moyer started his career. However, the crafty old man kept the Arizona Diamondbacks bats quiet, allowing only one run over six and a third innings and got his second win of the season by a score of 6-1 on Wednesday night.

Patrick Corbin got into trouble in the second inning and gave up a run-scoring single by Jordan Pacheco and a two-run triple to Dexter Fowler, who has been an absolute terror to Diamondbacks pitching.

Moyer even got in on the offensive action, as he hit a two-run single in the fourth. Colorado's scoring was capped off when Carlos Gonzalez singled home Tyler Colvin in the fifth.

Arizona got their only run in the seventh when pinch hitter Cody Ransom doubled in John McDonald, who had doubled to lead off the inning.

Corbin took the loss, giving up six runs in six innings and fell to 2-2 on the year. Moyer improved to 2-3 and broke his own record from being the oldest player to win a game.
