Rich Rodriguez, Todd Graham Set To Throw First Pitch At D-backs Opening Day

The state of Arizona loves its college football and there are two new head coaches ready to take over the Wildcats and Sun Devils. In a twist that should be really fun on Friday afternoon, Rich Rodriguez and Todd Graham will take the mound at Chase Field and each throw out the ceremonial opening pitch of the 2012 season.

Personally, I'd like to see Rodriguez or Graham pick up a bat and take some batting practice off the other coach, but I guess we'll be working on a tight schedule.

We have a few more details on the game after the jump...

The Diamondbacks are scheduled to take on the San Francisco Giants, with game time set for 4 p.m. locally. The game is sold out, but fans can still catch all of the action on ESPN and FOX Sports Arizona.

High expectations have been set for the D-backs in 2012, and baseball is finally back after a long offseason. Now it's just up to a couple of new football coaches to get the year started on the right foot.

For more on the club, head over to AZ Snake Pit. Arizona Wildcats fans should check out AZ Desert Swarm. Sun Devils fans need to visit House of Sparky for their coverage.
