The Cactus League schedule is over and the Arizona Diamondbacks return to Chase Field for the first time since the 2011 NLDS, when they played the Milwaukee Brewers. They are facing the Brewers again, only this game is technically meaningless.
However, for starting pitcher Josh Collmenter, it might not be meaningless. There has been a lot of talk taht he could lose his spot in the starting rotation to Pat Corbin, who has been great this spring. Collmenter has an ERA of 11.81 and has allowed as many homeruns as the number of batters he has struck out (five).
He faces lefty Randy Wolf in the final tune-up start. If nothing changes, he will make his first official start of the season on Sunday against the San Francisco Giants to close out the opening series.
Here are the starting lineups for both teams:
Brewers:
- Rickie Weeks, 2B
- Carlos Gomez, CF
- Ryan Braun, LF
- Aramis Ramirez, 3B
- Corey Hart, RF
- Alex Gonzalez, SS
