The Arizona Diamondbacks open the final series of their homestand facing the Philadelphia Phillies, who happen to be suffering the same sort of plight. Arizona and Philadelphia are missing two key offensive players from their lineups and also one of their ace starters.
Regardless, Philadelphia is still pretty talented, ranking second in the league in pitching and first in defense.
Plus, even without Chase Utley and Ryan Howard in the lineup, they feature a pair of players that give the Diamondbacks problems. Juan Pierre is hitting .333 in the last three season against the D-backs. Shane Victorino in that same period is hitting .310 with three homers.
Arizona gives Ryan Roberts the night off to start Cody Ransom, who doubled on Sunday. Paul Goldschmidt and Willie Bloomquist will be on the bench as well.
The both face off at 6:40 PM at Chase Field. You can watch the game locally on FS-AZ. The radio broadcast will be on Arizona Sports 620AM. In Spanish it will be on ESPN Deportes 710 AM and on Jose 106.9 FM.
