Last April when Arizona Cardinals star receiver Larry Fitzgerald visited the Arizona Diamondbacks before a game he put on the helmet and gloves, grabbed a bat and took some batting practice cuts. It didn't go so well [video] and he's still taking heat over that performance.
So this year when Fitz came to the D-backs pregame workout to promote his 2012 Celebrity Softball Game he brought a friend. All-Pro cornerback / punt returner Patrick Peterson showed his athletic prowess and supreme confidence on the football field during his rookie season and put both traits on display in the cage.
Peterson and Fitzgerald both also took some brief instruction from shortstops Stephen Drew and John McDonald and then fielded some ground balls. Both did well enough, but their footwork and throws to first left a lot to be desired.
