ESPN's Keith Law Sees Evan Marshall, David Holmberg As Rising Stars in D-Backs Organization

With spring training just around the corner, it's usually a good time to take a closer look at some of the up and comers in a team's farm system, and ESPN's Keith Law has done just that. no, it's not his top prospect selections, it's his sleeper prospect selections, the one's that sneak up on people with surprising success. Evan Marshall and David Holmberg could be those sneaky sleepers for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Make the jump for more.

Here is Law's take on both Marshall and Holmberg:

Reliever Evan Marshall might not qualify for next year's list if he's as good in 2012 as he was in 2011 because he'll be in the majors instead of on my rankings. Left-hander David Holmberg, acquired with Daniel Hudson in the Edwin Jackson trade, doesn't have one knockout pitch but can show four above-average offerings with plus command.

Marshall appeared in 27 games throughout the D-backs farm system last season, posting a 1.16 ERA and 1.065 WHIP including a 7/30 BB/K ratio. As for Holmberg he had an 8-3 record in 14 starts with the South Bend Silver Hawks last season, and is steadily making his way up the ranks as well.

Keep an eye on these youngsters for the future.
