The Arizona Diamondbacks are reportedly the third team in a three-team deal that's being discussed also involving the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians.
While it was previously reported that the Indians were attempting to send pitcher Shin-Soo Choo to the Reds for outfielder Drew Stubbs and young shortstop Didi Gregorius, the Diamondbacks appear to be in the mix as well, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Vince Marotta of ArizonaSports.com writes that if involved in the original trade between Cincinnati and Cleveland, the Diamondbacks could trade one of either Tyler Skaggs or Trevor Bauer in return for Gregorius.
Last week, a trade for Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera for Arizona pitchers Skaggs and Bauer was reportedly being discussed. Nothing was accomplished with another team -- Seattle, Texas, Tampa Bay and Kansas City were all rumored to be in the mix -- being needed to get the deal done.
That talk might ramp up again, though the Plain Dealer reports that Cabrera is not a bargaining piece in the current talks.
