Arizona Fall League scoreboard: Peoria explodes in the 8th, Mesa and Surprise survive close games

The Peoria Javelinas scored 10 runs in the 8th inning for the comeback victory over the Scottsdale Scorpions.

There were three games on the Arizona Fall League slate Thursday, one a blow two one run games that saw two comebacks fall short.

The Peoria Javelinas scored 10 runs in the 8th inning to run away with a 12-4 victory over the Scottsdale Scorpions. The Scorpions looked to have things in control, allowing only two runs over the first seven innings before the Javelinas exploded. Scottsdale couldn't recover from those 10 runs Peoria scored in the 8th. The win moved Peoria to 17-9 overall in the Fall League.

A Joc Pederson home run paced the the Mesa Solar Sox in a 4-3 victory over the Phoenix Desert Dogs. Pederson's three run home run in the 4th inning gave the Sox an early 3-0 lead that held until Grant Green hit a three run shot of his own in the top of the eighth inning. Mesa got one run back in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead for good.

Justin Marks struck out three batters in four innings as the Surprise Saguaros held on to defeat the Salt River Rafters 5-4. The Rafters scored three runs in the bottom of the 9th, but couldn't comeback from the early deficit.
