D-backs vs Rockies: Ian Kennedy starts season finale

The Diamondbacks face the Rockies on the last day of the regular season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Colorado Rockies in their season finale on Tuesday. The D-backs will be looking to end their season on a high note and capture the three-game series after defeating the Rockies on Monday. Arizona can finish with a winning record if they beat Colorado.

Arizona will be sending Ian Kennedy to the mound with a 15-11 record and a 4.16 ERA on the season. Kennedy had a strong September, going 3-0 with a 3.58 ERA in five starts. He last faced the Rockies on Sep. 23, getting a no decision after going six innings and allowing four runs on nine hits.

The Rockies will counter with left-hander Jeff Francis, who is 5-7 with a 5.75 ERA. Francis has struggled mightily down the stretch, posting an 0-3 record and 6.75 ERA in his last six starts. He isn't likely to go deep into the game, as he has pitched into the seventh inning just once this year.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 MT at Chase Field.
