Major League Baseball has lined up some big names for the All-Star Game weekend, and Arizona-raised Jordin Sparks is no exception -- after winning American Idol in 2007, Sparks' debut CD went platinum.
Still only 21 years old, Sparks has accomplished a lot during her short career. She will perform the National Anthem before the 82nd annual MLB All-Star Game, which is scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM Pacific time on Tuesday, July 12 at Chase Field in Phoenix.
Michelle Branch will sing "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch of the ASG, while country music star Jason Aldean will perform a concert setlist before the Home Run Derby on Monday, July 11.
Cee Lo Green, singer of hits "Forget You" and Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy," is slated to perform at the Major League Baseball Gala at the Phoenix Convention Center. Former Yankees center fielder Bernie Williams will also make an appearance, playing the National Anthem on his guitar before the Derby.
While more details are sure to come, the quality of the performers for the Midsummer Classic in 2011 is a great sight to see. Check back here for more details on the Fan Fest and other events in Phoenix during the ASG weekend.
