It is confirmed that Jason Marquis has been traded from the Washington Nationals to the Arizona Diamondbacks.for Zach Walters SS #TRADESless than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

Marquis steps into the starting rotation for the Diamondbacks, possibly replacing rookie Josh Collmenter or Micah Owings in the process.

In 2011, Marquis is 8-5 with an ERA of 3.95. With a career record of 104-97, Marquis is a big upgrade for the back of the rotation and will provide a steady hand every fifth day.

While Owings and Collmenter have performed admirably so far in 2011, one of them will have to go to the bullpen to make room for the newly acquired Marquis.

Zach Walters is a shortstop currently in A ball, and in 2011 had a .302 average, nine home runs and 12 stolen bases.

Low risk move for the Diamondbacks while upgrading a position of need. There's a lot to like here!
