Slumping Chris Young Rests In Final Diamondbacks Game Vs. Giants

Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Young has played in all 35 games for the team this year. His defense has been stellar but offensively he's in a slump. Young is hitting just .150 in nine games in May and will be getting the day off Wednesday in the final game of the series against the Giant. Gerardo Parra will move into the center with Xavier Nady playing in left field as the D-backs try and avoid the sweep.

Daniel Hudson (3-4, 4.47 ERA) has thrown the ball well in this last two starts and will face one of the Giants many talented arms, Matt Cain (2-2, 3.38 ERA).

This day game starts at 12:45 and will not be on local TV. You can catch the broadcast on KTAR 620 radio and the live game thread at AZ Snake Pit.

Here's a fun (depressing) look at the Diamondbacks draft history.

The Diamondbacks and the Draft: A Blast From the Past - AZ Snake Pit
[...]with the upcoming draft rapidly nearing I figured I'd look into some of the successes and failures our brief franchise has encountered in the draft. Needless to say, the draft has been a huge crap shoot for the Diamondbacks. Not only has there been a meager four players surpass 10+ WAR in our 14-year draft history, none of them are with the team anymore and two of them never even appeared in a D-back uniform.
