The Diamondbacks lost 4-2 on Friday night to the Chicago Cubs. The series is now tied 1-1 and the D-backs will look for the series win tonight in Game 3.
Arizona will start Ian Kennedy (3-1, 4.02 ERA), who has played very well and could pick up his third straight win tonight. Kennedy allowed only three hits in a 4-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday.
The Cubs will start Matt Garza (0-3, 4.11 ERA). Garza has 41 strikeouts thus far this season and is tied for the second-most strikeouts in the National League with Clayton Kershaw (both trail Tim Lincecum). The Cubs have not played well in those games, however (as indicated by Garza's record this season). They will need a collective team effort to secure Garza's first win as a starter this season.
Both the Cardinals and the Cubs are 11-14 on the season.
Saturday's game is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. on Fox Sports Arizona with the live game thread at AZ Snake Pit.
