The Arizona Diamondbacks conclude their season-opening three-game series against the Colorado Rockies today. The teams have split the first two meetings, with the Diamondbacks winning a close game 7-6 on Friday in 11 innings and the Rockies taking a 3-1 victory on Saturday.
The Diamondbacks will use Joe Saunders (9-17, 4.47 ERA) as their starting pitcher in today's match-up while the Rockies will sport Jhoulys Chacin (4-2, 1.44 ERA) as their starter.

Speaking of good, how about Justin Upton's aggressive base running on Opening Day when he charged into the Rockies catcher for a hard, but clean, play at the plate. Love it!

"Anybody question's Justin Upton and what he's here for, the way he went into that catcher [Friday], I think it's pretty obvious," Gibson said. "That kid played his heart out."It's the kind of hard-nosed baseball the D-backs are determined to play this year. "We have to go get after people," Upton said.
"We're the type of team that has to grind for every win that we get. Plays like that are going to define a team, so to get one on Opening Day was nice."
