MLB Standings Update: Diamondbacks Sit 6 Games Back From the Rockies

The Arizona Diamondbacks are just 23 games into their season, but the lead in the NL West is already starting to get out of their reach. At 10-13, the Diamondbacks are six games behind the first place Colorado Rockies, who are 16-7. They are currently in fourth place in the NL West, behind those Rockies, the Dodgers and the Giants.

The biggest surprise is that they are just one game behind the defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants. The Giants were supposed to be one of the most strong teams in baseball again this year, but they sit at a surprising 11-12. But I would expect their record to get much better by the end of the season.

The Diamondbacks open up a series against the Chicago Cubs next with a chance to continue clawing up the NL West leader board. We'll be keeping track of their progress here, but for more on the DIamondbacks head over to AZ SNake Pit.
