Arizona Diamondbacks Schedule: Game 2 Vs. St. Louis Cardinals, Galarraga Needs To Get His Grit On

The Arizona Diamondbacks got hit hard Monday night in the series opener against the St. Louis Cardinals. Lance Berkman proved he's not yet done (two home runs) and pitcher Kyle McClellan went six innings and had two RBI (ugh). The gritty D-backs get another chance to show just how resilient they are when they get back out on the field Tuesday night for the second game of the series.

The most disturbing outcome of the game was another bad showing from Juan Gutierrez who not has amassed an ERA of 14.73 in five games (3.2 IP). The D-backs need this guy to get his act together and provide that seventh and eighth inning bridge to the closer.

Armando Galarraga (1-0, 5.14) will take the ball for Arizona while St. Louis has their ace Chris Carpenter on the hill (0-1, 2.08). Carpenter is a perfect 4-0 against the Diamondbacks with a 2.54 ERA in 11 games (10 starts). This will be Galarraga has only face the Cardinals once before, he received a no decision. St. Louis was 5-4 against the Arizona last season.

Today's game is schedule to start at 6:40 p.m. local time and will be broadcast on Fox Sports Arizona (TV) and KTAR 620 (Radio).
