Update: Diamondbacks Battle Back To Take 6-5 Lead Over Reds

Joe Saunders made it through all of three innings before getting a much-deserved hook from Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson. Saunders ended his day with six hits, four walks and five runs (four earned).

Fortunately for Joe, his offense picked him up in the fifth inning with five big runs to give the D-backs a 6-5 lead through six innings. Ryan Roberts capped off the scoring with a deep bomb to left-center that drove in three runs.

Kam Mickolio gave the Snakes two solid innings out of the pen. Aaron Heilman has come on after him. Can the D-backs nurse this lead for three more frames against the powerful Reds?

In answer to that last question: No.

Aaron Heilman gave up a two-run home run to Jonny Gomes who may not have an "h" or an "r" in his name but has two in his season stat line.

Reds up 7-6 in the 7th.
