Diamondbacks Reliever Bryan Shaw On Getting Big Outs In Game 4 (VIDEO)

There were a lot of heroes for the Arizona Diamondbacks in their Game 4 NLDS win over the Milwaukee Brewers. And on this team, there are a lot of young guys making impactful contributions to the playoff run. We've seen how Paul Goldschmidt and Josh Collmenter can change a game but on Wednesday we also got a good look at young Bryan Shaw.

Shaw, 23, was another mid-season call-up who's panned out for the D-backs. He was drafted in 2008 in the second round and pitched 28 innings with a 2.54 ERA out of the pen this summer.

In Game 4, Shaw was brought in to clean up a tough situation. Fellow rookie Jarrod Parker struggled in the sixth inning and loaded the bases before handing the ball to Shaw with just one out. Shaw got out of that jam allowing only one run on a sac fly.

Then in the seventh inning he went right through Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder and Rickie Weeks in a clean inning of work.

Shaw throws a cutter with a lot of life that breaks hard inside to a left-handed hitter. At times he struggled to keep it in the strike zone. Against the lefty Fielder, however, he appeared to throw a four-seam fast ball at about 94 MPH that had late sink. Shaw said, however, it was also a cutter.

Here's Bryan Shaw talking about his work in Game 4 and what it's like to pitch in the postseason. We have lots more video posted at our YouTube channel including Ian Kennedy on Thursday before boarding the team bus to the airport.
