The Arizona Cardinals were supposedly one of the top contenders to land recently fired head coach Andy Reid. But the Kansas City Chiefs will get to him first. Reuben Frank of Comcast Sports Net Philadelphia reports that Reid had a good, long interview with the Chiefs. The Cardinals were scheduled to have an interview on Thursday, but it might get pushed to Friday at this point.
Reid is one of the top available coaches on the market after he was fired for suffering a down year with the Philadelphia Eagles, going 4-12. The Cardinals and Chiefs are two teams in needs of new head coaches, as Arizona fired Ken Whisenhunt and Kansas City relieved Romeo Crennel. Both teams seem to be in pursuit of an experienced head coach that has a track record of success. Reid finished 130-93 with the Eagles, including nine playoff appearances in 11 seasons and one Super Bowl appearance.
