Arizona Cardinals Score 1st TD With John Skelton As QB

After Kevin Kolb left the game in the first quarter with a rib contusion, John Skelton came into the game to play quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. That drive ended in a punt, but the next series was a successful one. It was a 14-play, 90-yard drive that ended with an Alfonso Smith four-yard rush into the end zone.

He got Larry Fitzgerald the ball for the first time in the game with the final play of the first quarter.

The drive was highlighted by some great running by Alfonso Smith, but Skelton did his job. He was 4/5 during the drive for 32 yards.

Smith carried the ball eight times for 46 yards and Williams Powell had a carry for five yards.

In the end, it resulted in six points, even if it was against the backup players of the Saints' defense.
