With the NFL regular season quickly approaching, fantasy football drafts season is also upon us. As has been the case for several years, Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald is once again one of the top ranked fantasy wide receivers headed into the season.
Fake Teams, SB Nation's fantasy sports website, recently released their 2012 fantasy football wide receiver rankings and Fitzgerald checked in at No. 4. Fitzgerald trails only Calvin Johnson, Roddy White and Greg Jennings. In their ranking notes, Fake Teams said Fitzgerald would be No. 2 if he had an average quarterback throwing him the ball.
Since Anquan Boldin left for Baltimore, not very many Arizona wide receivers other than Fitzgerald have been fantasy relevant. That changed a bit this season as rookie Michael Floyd also made the list, coming in at No. 34. Floyd is the highest rated rookie on Fake Teams list and even comes in ahead of notable players such as Santonio Holmes and Reggie Wayne.
Fake Teams' complete 2012 wide receiver rankings can be found here.
