Arizona Cardinals Offseason: Kevin Kolb Facing Hefty Expectations In 2012

The Arizona Cardinals brought Kevin Kolb to their franchise a year ago to solidify the quarterback position for the foreseeable future. Injuries and mixed results on the field have led many to wonder if Kolb is the right man to lead the franchise moving forward, and it's safe to say the upcoming season will be the make-or-break year for him.

The Cardinals are a team close to contending for a playoff spot, but they'll need strong QB play if they hope to have any chance of making a run. According to Rich Gannon, who knows a thing or two about playing the position, he thinks there's more pressure on Kolb than anyone else in football.

"I think it's quite conceivable that there's not another NFL player facing as much heat as Kevin Kolb will be this season," CBS NFL analyst and former NFL QB Rich Gannon told Arizona Sports 620's Doug and Wolf Tuesday. "Here's a guy that was paid a lot of money, he was expected to come in and be the starter."

It's going to be a very interesting next few months for Arizona Cardinals football. There's no questioning that ownership would like to see Kolb become an elite quarterback for the team each week; could a permanent change really be made if things go south early in the season?
