Arizona Cardinals Sign Eddie Elder, Javarris James, Larry Parker, Ricky Schmitt

The Arizona Cardinals signed four players today. Here's a little bit of tidbits on each of them.

Safety Eddie Elder measures at 5-10, 185 and played in 25 games (starting 20 of them) in two seasons at ASU, totalling 130 tackles, three INTs, seven passes defensed, one sack, and one forced fumble. He was named Defensive Player of the Year for California junior college at the College of San Mateo (CA).

Running back Javarris James measures at 6-0, 215, and spent the 2010 season with the Indianapolis Colts after coming into the league as a rookie free agent out of Miami. He played in 10 games with the Colts and punched it in the end zone six times while totaling 112 yards on 46 carries and adding nine catches for 63 yards. He did not play football in 2011 in the NFL after being released by the Colts in September.

Cornerback Larry Parker measures at 5-11, 176 and spent two years at San Diego State and led the Aztecs with seven interceptions last season.

Kicker/punter Ricky Schmitt measures at 6-2, 217 and has only attempted a few kicks in the league with the 49ers. He's spent much of his time in the league on practice squads on Pittsburgh and Oakland.
