2012 NFL Mock Draft: Arizona Cardinals Select Luke Kuechly

The Arizona Cardinals are in the mid-levels of the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, meaning there's no clearcut right choice for the team to make in deciding who they should take. At that point, it's probably best to look for the greatest possible talent on the board and selecting whoever's available. Arizona has no absolute pressing holes they need to fill, as they've done a good job patching things up through free agency.

Ryan Van Bibber of SB Nation released his latest mock, and the Cardinals end up taking a linebacker, one Luke Kuechly of Boston College. Van Bibber explains the reasoning behind the pick.

Nothing against Paris Lenon and Stewart Bradley, but Arizona can do better. Drafting Kuechly gives the defense a center piece, something to tie it all together and prevent a weak middle from undoing what should be a solid secondary and a good front.
