2012 NFL Draft: Cardinals Draft San Diego State QB Ryan Lindley

With the 185th pick overall and the 15th pick of the sixth round, the Arizona Cardinals selected QB Ryan Lindley out of San Diego State.

The 6'3" 229lb red shirt senior has a cannon of an arm and was expected to go well before the sixth round, but problems with the accuracy of that cannon may have been what drove his draft stock down. He earned Offensive Player of the Year honors repeatedly at San Diego, and has significantly better accuracy on short throws where he is able to set his feet.

The Cardinals entered the draft looking for help at wide receiver and on the offensive line, which they were able to do with the selection of Michael Floyd in round one and Bobby Massie and Senio Kelemete in rounds four and five respectively. They still have one pick remaining in the seventh round, and they may look to bolster their defensive defense, either in the backfield or the linebacker position.
