Arizona Cardinals Take WR Michael Floyd With 13th Pick Of The 2012 NFL Draft

After seeing almost all their possible targets not get selected with the first 13 picks, the Arizona Cardinals had their choice of players that were rumored to be possible picks for Arizona. Receiver Michael Floyd, linebacker Melvin Ingram and tackle Riley Reiff were all on the board when pick number 13 came around.

In the end, when the announcement was made, the pick was Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd, whom Larry Fitzgerald hoped the team would take.

According to Mocking the Draft, he is the rated as the second-best WR prospect in the 2012 NFL Draft and No. 17 prospect overall, according to Mocking The Draft's rankings. The scouting report on Floyd from Mocking The Draft says that he has the strength and technique to separate from press coverage at the line of scrimmage, that he works well on underneath routes and excels against zone coverage.
