It's almost here. Only a week or so more and the 2012 NFL draft will finally arrive. Months and months of speculation, projecting and predicting the future will come down to that shining moment when your favorite NFL team finally makes their illustrious first pick of 2012.
One gentleman who has been on the mock draft grind is Sports Illustrated's Don Banks, who according to his Mock Draft 6.0, has the Arizona Cardinals selecting OT Riley Reiff out of the University of Iowa with their first round pick, No. 13 overall.
Here is Banks with the commentary:
I'm tempted to plug Stanford guard David DeCastro into this slot, but the good news in Arizona is the Cardinals will have their choice of whomever they've rated higher. Reiff doesn't seem to be inspiring much excitement, but he's the consensus second-best tackle in the draft.
The amount of offensive line talent in the top tier of the draft class is rather impressive, with Reiff certainly a part of that distinction. Arizona seemingly could hit a a home run with either DeCastro or Reiff in this position, essentially taking who's available or who they feel is a better fit for their club.
