It has been announced that the NFL will release its 2012 regular season schedule at 4PM Arizona time. It is a big deal, as everyone loves the NFL and everything the NFL does is good for the NFL. So naturally it is a big deal.
The Arizona Cardinals already know their opponents, but they do not yet know when they will play them.
Here are the teams they will face:
Home games: Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles.
Road games: Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, St. Louis Rams, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons.
Knowing who they play, the Cardinals would like to request a few things with their schedule.
- Please, please can they avoid playing outside on the East Coast late in the season? Green Bay, New England and New York can be bitterly cold places to play, especially for a a team that plays in a dome.
- Can there be only a few 1PM EST start times? There is something about traveling across the country that makes life difficult for West Coast teams back east in the early games of the schedule. The Cardinals would request consideration.
- Ideally, play the Dolphins early and the Bills late. The Dolphins will have a team in transition to start the season. The Bills like to disappear late in the year. That would work out nicely for Arizona.
- How about a little love and not schedule two straight East Coast road trips? That would be awful nice.

The schedule starts and ends at home, keeps cold weather teams before the winter and a potentially big game in the last week.
