Cardinals Free Agency 2012: Cardinals Sign Seven Players

The Arizona Cardinals have stayed busy today, announcing the signings of seven free agents.

Safety Rashad Johnson, running back Larod Stephens-Howling, and cornerback Greg Toler were restricted free agents who all signed their one-year qualifying offers.

Quarterback Richard Bartel, running back Alfonso Smith, defensive end Ronald Talley and linebacker Brandon Williams - all of whom were exclusive rights players - signed their contracts for the 2012 season.

As a starter this past season, Toler drastically improved his production from his rookie year, recording 90 of his career 101 tackles with two interceptions, including one ran back for a touchdown.

Stephens-Howling made an impact when he had the chance last season and has steadily improved his production since joining the team in 2009. He rushed for 167 yards on 43 carries but his main impact came in the receiving game where he caught 13 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns this past season.

Johnson is the top backup at safety.
