2012 Arizona Cardinals Offseason: OG Daryn Colledge Restructures Deal

The Arizona Cardinals continue to stay busy this offseason. Left guard Daryn Colledge recently restructured his contract which gives the Cardinals $2.3 million more in cap space, according to Mac's Football Blog.

Colledge's previous contract was signed as recently as last August for five years, $27.5 million. His cap number would have been $5.5 million this upcoming season with a base salary of $3.8 million. But now Colledge will receive $700,000 in base salary while the other $3.1 million he's owed will be turned into a signing bonus to be prorated over the duration of his contract.

The restructure lowered Colledge's cap number to $3.175 million for 2012, clearing $2.325 million in cap space. In doing so, Colledge's cap numbers will increase by $775,000 in the final three seasons of the contract, going from $6.5 million to $7.275 million.

Colledge has started 92 of his 96 career games in the NFL since being drafted in the second round out of Boise State by the Green Bay Packers in 2006. He started all 16 games for the Cardinals in his first season with the team last year.
