Cardinals Sign Early Doucet to New Contract

The Arizona Cardinals have re-signed WR Early Doucet to a two-year deal that looks to make sure Kevin Kolb or John Skelton, whoever it may be working under center in 2012, has some weapons to throw to.

Doucet (6-0, 212) returns to the team after finishing out his rookie contract in 2011; he was a third-round selection (81st overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft out of LSU by the Cards and will look to spend a few more seasons in the desert. Doucet is coming off a career-year in 2011, where he caught 54 passes for 689 yards and five touchdowns. He played in all 16 of the Cardinals games and made six official starts.

In his career, the St. Martinville, LA native has appeared in 42 regular season games with 11 starts and in the regular season, has 111 receptions for 1,284 yards (11.6 yard avg.) and seven touchdowns.
