NFL Mock Draft 2012: More Offensive Line Help For Arizona Cardinals

The start of free agency has been quiet for the Arizona Cardinals, but their sole moves thus far have been to try and improve the offensive line. They brought back Levi Brown to play one tackle position and they have signed former Sn Francisco 49ers lineman Adam Snyder, presumably to take over right guard for Rex Hadnot, who was released recently.

However, with the NFL Draft coming up in a month, the Cardinals might still be looking to add young talent to protect Kevin Kollb (or John Skelton). In the latest mock draft projections from Revenge of the Birds, SB Nation's dedicated Arizona Cardinals blog, offensive line is the way they go, selecting Iowa tackle Riley Rieff.

Rieff and Jonathan Martin are like tackle prospect 2A and 2B to me, and the Cardinals are fortunate enough to have one of them fall to 13. Some questions have been raised about his arm length hampering his ability to play left tackle effectively (think Brian Bulaga), but his tape is undeniable. Rieff should be a solid bet to man the right tackle spot, and hopefully be able to take over for Levi Brown on the left side at some point.

Adding another potentially quality lineman will go a long way for the Cardinals. Kevin Kolb lost time last season because of hits he took because the offensive line was unable to protect him adequately.

Their team defense is already strong. improving the offensive protection should increase the rushing effectiveness and also allow for a better passing game.
