The Arizona Cardinals are dealing with free agency and a million other moving pieces while trying to solidify their team for next year. In addition to their stake in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, there's also the 2012 NFL Draft approaching and, of course, the payroll to worry about. On Friday, the team made a roster move that largely flew under the radar.
Jason La Canfora reported that the Cardinals released wide receiver Chansi Stuckey on Friday. It appears the move was largely made to avoid a salary cap issue. Had the Cardinals retained Stuckey, he would have been owed $1.75 million for 2012, which would have resulted in a $2.275 million cap hit. 2011 was Stuckey's only season with the Redbirds.
In five NFL seasons, Stuckey has 106 receptions for 1,062 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
