The location of the Arizona Cardinals' training camp could be changing next season and, according to ArizonaSports.com, Prescott has entered a proposal to be considered as the new host city.
Prescott's proposal includes hopes to build a sports complex that could allow the city to become a permanent home for the Cardinals. Until that complex is built, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University would be the location of a Prescott-based Cardinals training camp.
The cooler climate of Northern Arizona has long been home to Cardinals annual camp, with the team using NAU in Flagstaff for the last 25 years. The Cardinals' most recent three-year deal with NAU ended with the 2012 training camp.
The city of Glendale is also being considered if the team wants to hold camp in the same city where they play during the regular season.
The Cardinals are back in action on Sunday with a divisional game on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.
