Darnell Dockett, Kerry Rhodes have on-field incident vs. Jets, punishment coming

Frustration has been building for the Cardinals, who have fallen hard after a promising start to the year.

Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett reportedly spat in the face of teammate Kerry Rhodes in the fourth quarter of the team's loss to the New York Jets on Sunday, according to Pro Football Talk. Dockett will be receiving punishment from his team for his actions. PFT notes that the incident came as Dockett refused to go along with Arizona's plan to allow a Jets touchdown in hopes of giving their offense one last shot down eight points.

The defense has been a bright spot in an increasingly difficult season for the Cardinals. Dockett has been a force in the middle, recording 31 tackles, two sacks, and two passes defensed on the year.

The 7-6 loss to the Jets on Sunday pushed Arizona's losing streak to eight. The team began the season with four straight wins, and looked to continue their hot streak that ended 2011. Since then, points have come at a premium as the team struggles to find an answer at quarterback. That has to be frustrating for a defense that ranks seventh in the league in total yards allowed.
