The Arizona Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers in the season finale on Sunday afternoon, putting a cap on a season that many players and fans would likely want to soon forget. However, head coach Ken Whisenhunt isn't looking forward to the season being over, according to arizonasports.com.
It would be understandable for a coach to feel happy about the end of a season in which his team has lost 10 of their last 11 games, but Whisenhunt is a competitor and wishes he could continue working with his team:
"Will there be a sense of relief? No. The first thing I'm going to think about [when it ends] is that we don't have a chance to keep going and get it better, get it fixed."
The Cardinals will be looking to end their season on a high note and play spoiler against the 49ers, who are still battling for the NFC West title. Arizona last played San Francisco is Week 8, with the 49ers prevailing 24-3 in University of Phoenix Stadium.
Arizona's only positive result since a 4-0 start came in a 38-10 Week 15 win over the Detroit Lions.
