NFL injury report: Cardinals to be without TE Rob Housler in season finale

The tight end suffered the injury on a catch attempt in the end zone on Sunday

The Arizona Cardinals lost on Sunday to the Chicago Bears. They also apparently lost one player for the season finale on the road against the San Francisco 49ers. Tight end Rob Housler suffered a shoulder injury during the game on Sunday when he attempted to haul in a pass from Ryan Lindley in the end zone. He did not return to the game, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt announced that Housler will not play on Sunday.

He sprained his AC joint in the shoulder.

No announcement has been made as to whether a move to the roster would be made. The team could place him on injured reserve to be able to sign another player to take his spot on the roster.

The loss of Housler makes the tight end position a bit more suspect. The team already released Todd Heap, so all that are left who have played in games are Jeff King and Jim Dray. Kory Sperry, signed after Heap was let go, will probably see some time on Sunday against the Niners.

Arizona is 5-10 and has lost 10 of their last 11 games and will close out there season Sunday afternoon in San Francisco.
